Straight Shooter OK

Myself and my band have opened for many national acts and I have picked up a few tips and here are a few observations .
1. Dont act like a big deal . Get there early for your sound check but realize that you are the opening act and your sound will take back seat as it should .
2. It will not be perfect.You may only get a few minutes and you will have to be able to adapt to the conditions.
3. The Headliners may be willing to hang out a bit or they may be less friendly . That is their choice and should not be taken personally. You are the opening act and they have a different one every night.
4. Talk with their road manager and feel out if they will pose for a picture etc.
5. Watch their show and cheer . You might learn something.
6. Get on and off stage quickley
7. Ask the Sound Crew for effects on vocals etc.
8.Have a band plot with mixing instructions.
9. Have fun
10. Take lots of pictures and take a mix off the board.
