I have been Quilting for about 16 years. I am also a "Long Arm Quilter", which means I can finish your quilt for you. I am 100% FREEHAND. This means NO computer. I make the designs.
I design and construct my own Handbags. My signature look is mixing prints. I am a master of that because I'm fearless. I trust my eye and my strong passion for all things fabric.
I don't like to limit myself. I dabble in jewelry, metal collecting, I love to recycle and reuse things in unexpected ways. Sometimes I throw in some antiques like vintage tins, bottles, rusty stuff.
I have an affinity for discarded yet useful stuff others walk right on by. I don't always know right away what it will become but am sure it's a treasure and allow myself time to pick just the right project for it.
For me it has always been fabric. The last 2 years wool has be my muse. Recycling is time consuming but well worth it. That Harris Tweed or Pendleton skirt will be made into a lovely handbag. First disassembled, cleaned pressed and stored, then made into something else, even a quilt. Yes, they are lovely. Flannel backed for softness. Very occasionally I do garments. They will always be of simple, timeless, classic designs. Rarely trendy.
I have so many interests.
I have loved beads since I was a little girl and make simple but captivating jewelry. again mixing metals and adding unusual finds.
I'm open minded. You never know what I'll come up with. I'm never bored.
