Yampapaya Tribe Band (Hot Mixed Salad) is a multi-ethnic band who has toured three continents. Their music and live shows are upbeat. Dancing and rhythmic melodic with tribal grooves is guaranteed to get people up on their feet and dancing.
American singer songwriter David James Hoffman founder of this multiethnic group has collaborated with artist's from all over the world (such as Grammy Award Winner drummer Horacio "EL Negro" from Cuba, Karl Potter an American percussionist from NJ who collaborated with Pino Daniele, Italian singer-songwriter, and Cui Jian the father of China's Rock and Roll) expanding the groups world music style and quality. The bands style has been influenced in particular by the Congo mixing Congo based rhythms and melodies of soukous with music and rhythms of four continents. The playing styles include African soukous, Rock, Reggae, Funk, and Acoustic styles.
The Yampapaya Tribe Band believes that music is a universal language uniting cultures around the world. It is composed of musicians with diverse musical backgrounds, and cultures playing together creating a unique WORLD MUSIC. In 2015 & 2016 they were the first Rock band to tour China.
