Flip Over Aprons, Summerton, SC
My background is in Fine Art. I paint mostly Portraits in Oil, but I also have in my family, Musicians, Singers, Writers, and many others in Creative fields.
The love of sewing I inherited from my Mother who sewed for many of her friends and, of course, her own family. Her specialty was Wedding Gowns and she was a wonderful seamstress!
My love of aprons came from my dear Grandmother who always wore one when cooking or making all of her grandchildren their favorite cookies. The idea did not occur to me to sew them for the purpose of selling, until my husband Don and I moved to South Carolina and opened small cash-crop vegetable farm, Campbell’s Corner. When we erected a produce shack by the roadside to display our produce, Don suggested that I also display my aprons for sale. To my surprise, I sold 5 of them! That is when I realized that there could be an exciting future to my love of sewing.
My husband Don and I lived many years in Las Vegas and when we decided to relocate in 2006, to live in the country....a peaceful life..., now I have plenty of time to create and enjoy life! These are the best years ever
