I believe in recycling, just as traditional quilters always have. I begin with old, white sheets, hand-dyed to create my colorful palette. A background fabric determines the theme, and I use my own templates of simple shapes to build from there. Colors for the appliqués are chosen and each element is cut and stitched. Free-motion quilting completes the piece as I enhance the background with elaborate stitching, creating motion and dimension.
