FlameSong Bead Works, Newport, OH
I started making glass beads eight years ago. In the beginning I had a small set up on my kitchen table with a torch and some glass rods. I fell in love with working with hot glass from the moment I first tried it. I taught myself and after a couple of years, I decided to take some beads to work with me and show them to co-workers. To my delight, they loved them and wanted to buy some. Since that time I have upgraded my equipment and now have a studio located in Newport Ohio. I have sold beads in some very strange places. Since I wear my beads, people have noticed them and I have sold them in resturants, doctors offices, and land scaping places, nearly everywhere I go. When I recently found myself among the ranks fo the unemployed, I decided to try the arts and crafts circuit and see how that goes. I found the FNO on line and here I am.
