The Compact has been one of the Hudson Valley's most highly regarded groups for almost a decade. The current trio line-up includes Erin Hobson (guitar/vocals), Steven W. Ross (bass/vocals) and Paul Rossman on drums.
Effortlessly combining elements of various musical styles like sonic chemists, the group is categorically hard to pin down, with a diverse repertoire spanning Rock, Blues, and Funk with hints of Jazz and Latin. Even the band's cover songs serve to exemplify how they own their unique versions.
The Compact is acclaimed for their spirited live shows, marked by adventurous musicianship and irresistible grooves, bringing audiences to their feet and keeping fans coming back for more. The band has recorded and independently released three full length albums and two singles, with tracks that continue to play on nationally syndicated radio shows, Sirius-XM, and on terrestrial radio locally and nationally.
The Compact performs at every top music venue in the Hudson Valley and has shared the stage with international acts in virtually every genre. Notable festival performances have been Mountain Jam 2011 and 2015, Pleasantville Music Festival 2011 and 2014, Beacon River Fest 2013.
