The Crooked Stones is the musical brainchild of Brennan Kilpatrick (Midnight Satellites / Dark Haven) and Brandon McLaughlin (Dark Haven). Straddling decades with one foot firmly planted in modern alternative rock and the other in the heavier 90's grunge vibes of Soundgarden or Alice in Chains, the Crooked Stones trade the pointed sonic assault of Dark Haven for a more adult, yet restless walkabout of the rock and roll genre. Kilpatrick takes on the role of lead vocal duties and guitars, while McLaughlin provides bass and back up vocals. For drums they brought on Jordon Soto for the album, who brings the perfect blend of aggression, power, and groove that the tracks call for. Sprinkles of blues and balladeering stretch the sound and give a depth to music beyond simply being tunes to drink beer and pump your fist to… Not that you shouldn't already be doing that. You should. Just don't be surprised when your mind takes a break to wander in a moment of self reflection. The debut EP was recorded primarily at Kilpatrick & McLaughlin's 'the Temple Studios,' while drums were tracked at the Shop Studio with Engineers Bryan Escobedo and Alex Pappas. It is slated to be released in late 2017. Beers sold separately.
