We've been told that our name, The Sonic Poets,, fits us well - always moving forward, pushing the muscal edge, relaying our excitement to the audience with exuberance - all while playing Jeff Kier's thoughtful & lyrical compositions.
Jeff Kier is a prolific composer -San Francisco DJ Mark Stevens commented that "Jeff is emerging as one of the top composers of our time," - the band's current show features Jeff's latest pieces, added to the band's own stew of insinuating grooves, infectious world-rhythms, and indelible melodies. The sextet also includes renowned percussionist Scott Hirtenstein,and, of course, Jeff Kier -piano, Mike Hershenson - guitar, Lanny Grilly - drums, Brian Sandstrom - bass,and the virtuostic Dave Grilly on sax & woodwinds.
