My formal education was as a Geologist and I worked for the U.S.G.S. for 10 years. I've always had a passion for nature in all of it's moods and forms so Geology was a good fit. I grew up in KY and I was a part of the generation that was always outside until made to come in! I acquired my first 35mm camera in the USAF in the 60's- it was a Petri and I used Kodachrome film exclusively. Photography became the diary of my life and was the thread that ran through my careers as Geologist and flight instructor. I finally, in 1984, decided that I would pursue my passion and became a full time landscape photographer. I have sold my work at countless juried art shows in the East and have been the principle photographer on 2 Washington, D.C. books. I have worked as a contract photographer at the Folger Shakespeare Library for 6 years. Other clients have included The Washington Post, National Park Service, AAA, Smithsonian, Walt Disney Corp, etc. My work is in public collections including AT&T, General Dynamics Corp., Government agencies such as the FBI, NRC, EPA, U.S. Congress.
