As a newly retired elementary teacher I discovered I had too much free time on my hands. My Granddaughters suggested I sew doll clothes to sell, as they had outgrown dolls. My trendy doll clothes business morphed into aprons for dolls, girls, and moms. I then had to add men's aprons as my sons do cook and felt slighted. My homemade cotton napkins were a hit as were the casserole carriers with wooden handles and the microwave bowl cozies. I ventured out to my first craft show as a "crafter" with my Granddaughters help and LOVED it. The rest is history.....I sew, sell on Etsy, and local craft shows.
