Uncommon, Unique and Eclectic, Westerville, OH
Descriptions of Material and Technique
We work primarily in semi-precious stones and metals, glass, and crystal making unique and wearable works of art. Our techniques vary from lamp work glass beads and bead weaving to chain maille and metal working. Although our style and artisan works are consistent, we strive to use new techniques and thrive on not making the same piece again and again. Our main goal is to use a variety of high quality materials in ways that are uncommon and eclectic.
Artist Statement
Carrie and Laurel met through a passion for jewelry making. Laurel has a background in sewing, knitting, and crochet, while Carrie's is in photography and video. Each enjoys the hands-on approach to making unique pieces that convey a feeling, memory, or style. Looking back through photos of past work is always a trip down memory lane and often brings a recall of when it was purchased or who purchased the item. Some or our greatest pleasure comes from knowing the piece is being worn and appreciated.
