Handcrafted in North Carolina - Get to Know Wave and Willow

Thank you for stopping by! I wanted to take a moment to let you get to know the artist-crafter behind these scenes a little bit better. I want you to understand how Wave and Willow products are created and what happens when you invest in handmade.

My name is Julie and I started creating and selling my works a few years back via online venues such as Etsy and others, local craft shows, Art Walks and even coffee shop displays, making my pieces available to all. Some pieces have even been sold to customers overseas, and I am honored. It has taken some time, but I have settled my work in two distinct categories: practical and fine art pieces.

Practical pieces mostly include handmade zipper pouches, which work to make your life easier by keeping smaller items close at hand and away from the bottom of your purse. Sometimes, I offer mug mats and other fabric items, but zipper pouches are the mainstay, for now. Each piece is lined with both cotton fabric and batting, adding stability to each. Most are machine washable and will not crack like their vinyl/plastic counterparts. They are built to be used and built to last. (But remember…if they are repeatedly stuffed like a turkey they *will* pop!)

Fine art pieces vary but include mainly sweater lapel pins and smaller wall art. All are fiber art works. These are what make my heart sing. As it is very hard to convey the texture and color of fiber art online, I rarely post those items for sale, saving them for in person events. These items are quite unique and are rather time consuming. But they are worth it.

All items are designed and made by me, by hand. (Embroidered designs are used with permission, but the construction and embroidery, itself, remains made by me.) I work out of a very small studio in North Carolina. All proceeds go to support my family and currently help put my daughter through college. By purchasing a Wave and Willow item, you have helped this mom pay for school fees, lessons for her daughter as well as her prom dress, as well as the other “little things” in life many others take for granted. From the bottom of my heart I thank you!

Many thanks for stopping by and learning a little bit more about me and my business.

Wishing you all the best ~ Julie
