Wendy M Jewelry
Wendy Mack Pobanz, Artist/Artisan
In a world where life can be full of the ordinary, I use form, color and texture to create jewelry that encourages personal and distinctive expression My world is one of simple forms and contemporary colors crafted into original wearable art pieces.
Born and raised in Kenmore, New York, I studied a variety of traditional fine crafts, which resulted in a life-long love of things made by hand. I have worked in ceramics and pottery, metal-smithing, enameling, block printing, and batik. I further refined my design skills by studying interior design at Villa Maria College in Buffalo.
I consider myself a mixed media artist, but each piece of my jewelry includes polymer clay. Polymer clay is a fairly new fine art medium that now holds a distinguished place in permanent art collections in the Museum of Art and Design in New York, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Racine Museum of Art in Wisconsin. The polymer clay designs are completely made by hand using traditional glass and metal working techniques.
