The What Cheer? Brigade is a 19-piece brass band from Providence, RI, USA. An aggressive mix of Bollywood, Balkans, New Orleans, Samba & Hip-Hop, played with the intensity of metal. Since it requires no amplification, some call it Luddite Hardcore-proof that loud music doesn’t need electricity. A raucous live experience that is portable and extremely danceable. The perfect festival band for playing remote locations or between acts. No set up required. Since 2005 we have played hundreds of shows, toured Europe twice, West Coast, East Coast and played festivals like Lollapalooza, Sziget, & Newport Folk
