My inspiration comes from mystical, idyllic ideas filled with spirituality and at times, religious themes. As my spiritual journey evolves, so do my paintings - from figurative portrayals in pastels to landscapes in acrylics and oils; and presently collages and abstract expression in acrylics and printmaking. I often use printed text from books and newspapers using them to convey the “word” in bits and pieces. I also photograph my own work and cut it to pieces, using them in my collages as well. My colors and imagery are inspired by an otherworldly place between reality and dreams. I also have an ongoing dialogue with fairytales and literature where lately, I use the preprinted word and preprinted images as I rip, tear and assemble my collaged pieces while I also paint them on canvas and sometimes wood.
