Wolcott Congregational Church was founded in 1773. This congregation has a long and interesting history as does the Town of Wolcott. In 1972 our congregation voted to enter into full covenant with the United Church of Christ (UCC). This mainline denomination came into being in 1957, formed by a covenant between the Congregational Christian churches and the Evangelical and Reformed churches. We function as an independent representative democracy with members electing members to make the day to day decisions for ministry and mission while the membership as a whole makes the final determinations. The Leader of our church is Jesus Christ.
