In March of 2018 I started Woldens Woodcraft as a way to unwind in the evenings and weekends. I have been doing different forms of wood working since July of 2013 building odd things around the house as a way to improve my skills. When going out shopping with my wife over the years I felt like almost all the jewelry boxes and other home décor items had the similar looks and feels to them. I felt there was an opportunity to provide unique looks to classic styles of these items and that's what I want to do for you as a customer.
Today I focus on making unique home décor items leveraging the natural beauty of the solid wood I procure from a local sawmill. All of my products are made from new wood to include the rustic pieces. What some view as defects in the wood such as knots and cracks, I view as character. I strive to find elegant ways of highlighting these characteristics in my pieces. My rustic pieces do not mean “Old wood” thrown together to make an item. If you hold my rustic pieces in your hands, they will have the feel of a polished piece with solid construction.
