Woodwright Reclamations, Fredericksburg, VA

Member Since: April 5, 2015
Fredericksburg, Virginia
Wood products made from the same trees used to rebuild George Washington' boyhood home, Ferry Farm, in Fredericksburg, VA. These trees were most likely growing when Christopher Columbus was exploring the new world. Harvested in 1854 for a wooden timber crib dam and placed in the Rappahannock River, this wood was already over 300 years old. It was used by the Confederacy to defend Fredericksburg in the Civil War. After 150 years in the river it was removed and we were blessed to reclaim it. Now we make authentic period reproductions and unique items like pens, jewelry boxes, chessboards, & period reproductions.
