Jewelry – Metal works,
This category is made from a variety of different gauged copper that start out as copper sheets. Depending on what type of jewelry is being made, different techniques are used.
Earrings – Copper
20 gauge copper that is stamped out with a press to desired shapes. Designs are transferred to copper by a ink heat transfer that binds to metal (copper).
Diamond cuts are dremeled in with special tip tool. Final process is to dip earrings into clear enamel to coat the earrings with a protective layer that keeps ink design on and prevents oxidizing.
Bracelets & Rings – Copper
14-16 gauge copper is cut out and hammered to desired size. A 20 gauge copper is used for a “wrinkle wrap” to go into the middle of bracelet to bring emphasis and different depths to the bracelet. Colors are sometimes put into “wrinkle wrap process” by a process of pewter. Edges are then folded over and smoothed out for a clean finish. Final process is to coat bracelets with a clear enamel to prevent oxidizing.
