There’s more to Orlando, Florida than theme parks. The countless food and music festivals, fairs, carnivals, and expos not only keep the locals and tourists busy throughout the year, but also infuse the city with love, joy, and culture. Almost every beach hosts a number of events pretty much every month, whether it be Miami Beach, West Palm Beach, Fort Myers Beach, Delray Beach, Pompano Beach, Fort Walton Beach, or Vera Beach. That’s the thing about Orlando, you’re never too far from a good event.

Every year, Orlando organizes Oktoberfest where you can pretend you’re in Germany with their beer, food, music, and games. There’s live music, a free bounce park, and community performances as well.

Spooktacular
Every October, Orlando brings Spooktacular to downtown Avalon Park where children have fun with trick-or-treating while adults explore food trucks, games, caricature artists, corn mazes, pumpkin patches, and more.
As the name suggests, “spooky” is the theme of the event so everything from the music to the food will be Halloween-themed. If you scare easy, avoid going to the inflatable corn maze that has scary surprises hidden at every corner! If that doesn’t sound exciting enough, there’s also a live-fire performance by skilled artists.
Calle Orange Festival
Festival Calle Orange Downtown Orlando celebrates the diversity of the Hispanic community with four action-packed stages and more than 40 singers and bands. You’ll find live performances as well as traditional crafts such as henna tattoos and split rail fences.

To mark the occasion, there’s a parade, a beauty pageant for teen-age girls, a rodeo, and armadillo races. Even though it’s a family-friendly festival, i.e., no alcohol is allowed, it draws over 30,000 people every year. It’s one of the free food festivals so you don’t need to pay a cent to enter.
