Kwanzaa is a time to honor African American culture and values, including unity, self-determination collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith. It's also a time for reflection and celebration, with communal feasts and gatherings that bring together families and friends. A celebration for ALL people, focusing on family, community, and culture, centered on seven basic values as building blocks for peace and progress within neighborhoods. Celebrating this holiday season and the Triangle's diversity, AADE's annual Kwanzaa celebrations are a time to enjoy family, community, and culture.
