Spokane's first Lunar New Year was celebrated from 1888 when Spokane had a thriving Chinatown - Historic International District, the last Lunar New Year was celebrated 1933 due to systemic racism during the depression era. Spokane's Asian community united and brought back the event after an 89-year hiatus in 2021 as a way to combat the anti-Asian hate during the pandemic using the arts. 2025 Lunar New Year & ANHPI Business EXPO.
