Gigi's Gems was born from a dream that Lisa had always carried in her heart, to one day open an antique gift shoppe. When she and Jim married in August of 2010, their union not only blended their families but also presented them with an abundance of antiques and collectibles that they had each accumulated over the years. Jim, who is a mechanic, owns and operates Jim's Quality Service in Nicholasville, Ky. and Lisa is his receptionist and office manager. As she began to bring her personal touches to the reception area, she came up with the idea to start selling some of their antiques in the lobby of the shop. Jim, who is also quite the craftsman, began to transform his lobby into a storefront for her shoppe, and her long time dream became a reality on November 11, 2011.
Lisa didn't have to think for long to come up with a name for her newly formed gift shoppe. Her first grandchild, Ryder, started calling her Gigi at an early age. His sister Reaghan, of course, came to know her as the same, so that part was fairly simple for her. Because her grandchildren are treasures she adores and because her husband's name is Jim, who also happens to be the love of her life, she decided to call her shoppe, Gigi's Gems.
It didn't take long for the word to spread throughout Nicholasville about Gigi's Gems and before long, they were able to expand their inventory to include more primitives and collectibles. Now the entire front lobby of Jim's Quality Service has become Gigi's Gems, and they both couldn't be happier with the arrangement. Jim is even considering expanding her store sometime this year. Lisa decided it was time for her store to have a web presence, so she created a Facebook page and has obtained quite a following through social media, but that wasn't enough. Lisa wanted to be able to appeal to and reach to individuals who were not locals or who were unable to visit the physical location of the store, so she determined the best way to do that, would be to create an online presence for Gigi's Gems....and here it is!
