I retired 20 years ago from the criminal justice system, Public Defender Department. I was also an advocate for the District Attorneys office. I developed a program, which got funded by the federal government, to reduce recidivism. (Working for the State enabled me to retire after 20 years of service).
I had problems with anxiety and insomnia so my husband and I went on a retreat to Sedona, AZ. While window shopping I noticed a crystal bracelet and purchased it. While bathing that evening I held the red crystal from the bracelet between my fingers and started meditating on love. My all-over-the-place mind actually remained focused for 15 minutes. I felt relaxed and slept like a baby. That was the beginning of the JAS Meditation Bracelet. I made the Bracelet with seven colored crystals, each representing a meditating subject.
The bracelet required Swarovski Crystal and other supplies, which led me to start experimenting on making jewelry. I started making my own original designs. I make custom jewelry and love the input from my customers on designs they are interested in. Together we come up with beautiful designs. Seven years later, I had some medical problems so I quit selling for awhile, but continued to design.
I am now back in business designing wedding, special occasion and everyday jewelry.
PERSONAL INFORMATION: I got married to my high school sweetheart right out of high school. We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary in March, 2018. I have two children, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Five of my grandchildren and spouses are in the medical profession. Three are Registered nurses, one will be a Speech Therapist and the other a doctor. My husband is retired from GE Airplane, where he was a machinist for 33 years.
I am excited about going to craft fairs, which is something I have not done. Most of my work has been online or for friends and family.
Thank you so much for reading this.
