I am a wildlife artist from West Virginia. I have been a professional artist most of my career. I lived in a remote area of North Carolina for six years where I studied wildlife so that I could better depict them in paintings. I specialize in mammals, birds and fish, but especially Trout.
I am proud to be a juried Tamarack West Virginia artist since 2018, and often have my work in the Dickirson Gallery in Tamarack, Beckley, W.V. I also have my work in galleries from Pocahontas County to Central and Southern West Virginia. In order to depict an animal I use fine brushes and many layers of different colored watercolors to create my subject in high detail giving the finished work a photo-realistic image using paint. I have been the featured artist in many fine shows and exhibits throughout my career in the arts. I studied at Ohio University school of art and design and was invited to participate in a special summer program at the school of art and design at W.V.U. in Morgantown, W.V.
I do all my own designs and create the animal, bird, fish paintings with fine detail. When possible and if I have the space, I can demonstrate my work. Although my work is in several galleries, I enjoy most participating in art and craft shows in West Virginia and Virginia when possible.
