James Kinnett, self-taught artist, was born in Korea. Adopted at age of nine by the army veteran, he came to America. Jim has always been facinated by anything nature, especially wildlife and spent most of his early years exploring woods and streams to learn about it and to draw.He was very prolific, producing drawing and painting until 25, where his life took him on a different journey. For the next 20 years or so he toiled in many different professions, always looking for something to satisfy his big void in his life. Jim did not realize that big void in his life was having a relationship with the God,first, than getting back to painting; which his wife, Kay, urged him on to do before she passed away while they were living in Louisiana and Texas. Jim came back to Maryland to pursue his new career as an artist. He has been residing in Southern Maryland with Leslee, who he has known since childhood, happily painting the tidal water and local scenes.
