35 years as a television producer, writer and director traveling the world, seeing it objectively thru a lens, has offered me the gift of a cultural human experience I'd dreamed of from early childhood. I believe this to be one of the greatest rewards in my career!!
Now the need to share the idiosyncrasies of each of these cultures, and at the same time, capture the similarities and common threads between all of us as “one people, living in one planet”, has led me to try, in my own way, to interpret those primitive, original, and sometimes forgotten cultural icons, and bring them back to make it a part of our modern “civilized” world.
I bring together the elements of our earliest memories that linger with us so distinctively - papers, woods, leathers, beads, metals, cloths, strings, plasters, varnishes and paints, building with them to represent the modern icons of our computerized world… Primordial materials creating symbols of that human artistic expression that transcends not only space… but time!
