I began beading approximately twelve years ago with the idea of crafting Holiday gifts for family members. Pleasantly surprised with the outcome and enjoyment of beading I continued to create more and more intricate designs.
Friends and family, impressed with my work, suggested that I begin selling my pieces of jewelry. Most of my sales have been from customers (many return customers) at art and craft shows.
The name, Turtle Pond Jewelry Designs came to me one afternoon while sitting on a huge rock by my pond pondering the next beading project. Many painted turtles frequent the pond, lulling near the surface of the water. I get much enjoyment and inspiration from watching the turtles and other wildlife.
I especially enjoy intricate beadwork and bead embroidery. I also do some wirework and bead stringing. Most of my earrings would be classified as minimalist, which many of customers appreciate. My focus is on creating beautiful, unique designs made with durable, quality materials.
