My name is Tenzin Dhonden. I was born in 1982 and raised in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, India. I had the privilege to study traditional Tibetan Thangka art in the “Institue of Tibetan Thangka Art” under the supervision of Gen. Sangye Yeshi from Jan 1998 - Jan 2004. Following my education I had the opportunity to work independently as well as for many monasteries and private dealers as follows: From Jan 2004:- July 2005, I worked for Mr. Gompo at Khangee at Dharamshala From Aug 2005:- May 2007, I worked for Choekyap Rinpoche at Deyang Monastery (Institute of Buddhist Studies) in Mundgod, India. From June 2007:- Dec 2009, I worked independently. From Jan 2010:- Sep 2012, I mainly worked for Thangka & Handicraft Exporters in Dharamshala, India. From Sep 2012, I reside in Atlanta, GA, with my wife. I continue to paint Tibetan thangka and wish to introduce our tradition here.
