I have been playing the piano since I was very young and have always appreciated the craftsmanship put into building a piano. A few years ago I wanted to have an art piece on my wall that would show my love of the piano. After much searching, I found that it would be easiest to make my own. I began with a piano I found on Craigslist. Shortly after that one I got several more. It finally became obvious I needed to start to sell the items I was making as I was running out of room at home and in the garage. I have built many different products with the piano from wall art, to tables, shelves, and bars. This is where the 88 comes from as there is 88 keys on a typical piano.
In addition to this and learning to use several different tools I began collecting scrap wood material from new homes. My husband is a carpenter and I would find beautiful pieces of trim that were being thrown away on his job sites. I then started to put pieces together and add some color, and that is where color in 88and color came from.
