I created Abney's for the purpose of using some of my building and artist type skills in effort to see just how far I could take it. I designed Abney's to have the ability to evolve into something just a bit more in order to further our goals in helping others and not just ourselves.
As an artist/designer and just an all around creative type person I find that by seeing, watching and doing projects from start to finish I feel some type of accomplishment. With that being said my family and I have decided to turn Abney's into an sort of Therapy for others. Art Therapy with a little more involvement towards the "Therapy" side of things.
As we begin to apply more into bringing others in from another one of our programs we have started, the more you will begin to see where and what type of Therapy will be available. We plan to help by teaching others to use tools and other various items in efforts to create and help them find their "creative" side. We will use many different types of things either starting from scratch or by upcycling items that have been donated for this perticular purpose. Each item completed will have the opportunity to be apart of the "show" or festival Abney's will be involved with allowing each individual who created or upcycled the item to make a commission off of their items.
We are just in the beginning phases of this program. In time I hope to have the privilege to see it grow with the ability to help many others as well.
