My name is Marma Rogers and I am the sole propieter of Ancient Memories Handcrafted Jewelry. I am also a certified Cherokee Artist through TERO. I began making jewelry as a hobby and then slowly I transitioned into a professional jewelry artist. My medium involves many kinds of stone and a variety of metals, with copper and sterling or fine silver as the primary metals used. I am a metalsmith and have begun cutting my own stones. I also enjoy using fossils and any other naturally occuring material. I have been making jewelry for 7 years. I do not make the common glass beaded jewelry often found in Native American stores and at festivals. My art is in continuous movement as I learn and grow. The goal in using natural elements is to show the beauty of the earth and hopefully instill an appreciation of all that the earth provides. I have participated in many festivals and arts and crafts venues. In 2011 I won an Honorable Mention in the holiday Cherokee Art Show. My husband built a shop for me behind our house and that is where I do my work. We live within Cherokee Nation near Lake Eucha and enjoy the quiet and serene woods surrounding our home. My inspiration comes from observing nature and all the life found within it. Music inspires me as well. I am currently working on pieces for this years art shows. I will soon be posting new pieces on my website once the pictures are completed. I hope you enjoy my work.
