Growing up, my parents had alter egos who did the hard work around the house: Hank and Hilda were our handyman and cleaning lady. Out of this tradition of family whimsy, Hazel was born: only her heavy lifting comes in the creative and magical department. Hazel lives off in the woods, in a small cottage, where she makes jewelry, art, and spiritual tools. When she has enough, her cottage sprouts wheels and she rolls into towns to sell her wares.
Hazel's Moving Cottage is my online footprint for that concept, and I am slowly starting to bring it to local craft fairs and venues. Eventually, my tent-and-table setup will look a bit more like the cottage-on-wheels in my mind, but as in all things, we get there one step at a time.
