Tim Bell was born in Florida, enlisted in the Marines right after High School. Being a Marine instilled discipline and attention to detail. Throughout his diverse life he has many vocations, all with hands-on construction, from furniture repair and refinish to building high end humidors and cabinets. But the most interesting and educational, was making Fine Art Frames for the top artists in the country. Making museum quality frames from raw wood to gold leaf and working one-on-one with the artists has given him another level of artistic insight. This is where he met and married his wife, LaVon Sexton, who together collaborate on many pieces of artwork. An old school woodturner taught him the basics of turning in 1999 and it has been an ever-changing creative adventure ever since. Tim has been in many art and craft festivals in Michigan and in Texas. The high point of these was being invited to participate in a woodworking expo show in Philadelphia, where he was able to spend one on one time with some of the best international turners in the world. All of them were very generous in sharing their knowledge. The most recent was winning an award at the 2015 Irving Arts Center Exhibition. Sales, Shows, and Awards are nice, but nothing is more rewarding to us than making an artistic piece of art from nature.
