I am an Interior designer turned metal artist living in Manassas, Virginia. I live with my wonderful husband and our dog Scout. When I'm not working on jewelry, I can usually be found tweaking an interior space or searching for treasures at local thrift stores.
I have always loved making things with my hands, but with most artistic endeavors I have always been more interested in finishing a project than the actual process. I started making jewelry to satisfy my desire to make while working as an Interior Designer. I love natural stones and unique materials. I made mostly beaded items at first and researched new techniques as needed. After moving to Northern Virginia in 2009 I wanted to learn a trade that allowed me to work from home and to depend solely on myself. When my husband and I started searching for wedding bands I stumbled upon an amazing metal artist who suggested a metalworking class taught by her colleague. On the first day of class, I knew I had finally found my medium. I enjoy the challenges and the process of working with metal. I love that the techniques are the same techniques that have been used for centuries, but mostly I love how honest it is to sit down at my bench with my saw and watch a piece of sheet metal transform into wearable art made by my own two hands.
