Mark your calendar and save the date! The Friends of Main Street of Greenville, Texas, invites you to attend our annual Backstreet Bash on Saturday, April 11, 2015! The Backstreet Bash is a large and exciting community street event with LOTS of vendors, crafts, FOOD, demonstrations, KIDS activities, pet activities, live music and entertainment...and MUCH MORE! The heart of the Bash begins in the backstreets of downtown along Jordan between Stonewall and Oak Streets, and infiltrates along the side streets of that area. This is a truly unique event that allows people in our community, and surrounding areas to experience historic downtown Greenville from a different angle, while enjoying a day of FUN filled entertainment for the entire family....including the family dog!
Below are a few of the highlights of this year's Backstreet Bash:
Our BARK section will have LOTS of PET-FRIENDLY activities including weenie dog races, pet talent show, other games and prizes, petting zoo, pony rides, pets available for adoption from local and DFW area animal rescues, pet supplies, McGruff the Crime Dog, police dog demonstrations from Greenville’s K9 police unit, agility demonstrations and other active canine events! The 4th Annual “Hot Diggity Dog Jog” sponsored by Turtle Creek Veterinary Medical Center to benefit pet cancer awareness will include a 5K as well as a 1 mile walk this year, so let the conditioning begin!!
MUSIC all day by various local artists, THE BLANDELLES and KARAOKE contest!
Backstreet Bash also welcomes the Blackland Classic bicycle races to downtown Greenville during the event. Bike races are scheduled to start at 1 p.m. and will continue into the evening hours. This event will attract a number of patrons and their families all across the state and other areas.
LOTS of food vendors, as well as local restaurants and pubs within walking distance to the Bash. The Blue Mesquite Grill, Corner Street Pub, and Landon Winery will have their establishments open all day, serving food, wine and specialty craft beers.
Landon Winery will also be hosting their popular CRAWFISH boil during the Bash!!
Evening entertainment can be found at our local restaurants and pubs after the Bash with live music, food and beverages.
