Hi , This is my first blog entry. I am Laurie Sue Bakay. My husband, Jay, and I own Bakaywood, in Bear Creek NC.
After many years of selling cabinetry to kitchen and bath showrooms we are eager to vend at festivals and craft fairs within a certain range of Bear Creek.
For 18 years we were wholesale manufacturers in NJ. With the onslaught of cheap formandehyde filled imports we found our customers base dwindling.
So when the high priced lease on the 10,000 sq ft facility was up we decided not to renew.
Time to reflect on what we wanted our business to be and decided at this point in life to semi-retire from the rat race of high volume production and get back to working with individuals.
We are looking forward to making many new friends and customers on this new path and embrace input from the experienced.
