Beauty 4 Ashes Glass Art, Lebanon, OR

I have been making and creating things since I was a child. I love the colors that God has given us to enjoy and use as many as I can in the beautiful items I create.

About 13 years ago I had a battle with breast cancer and for 2 years underwent treatments which have made it possible for me to be here today.  During that time I discovered painting on glass and loved the things I could make.  My wonderful husband decided I needed a shop to be able to have some quiet place to work.  So my shop "Beauty 4 Ashes" came into being.  The name was inspired from a scripture that helped me get through some pretty rough times.

One of the first items I painted was a plate with that scripture on it which was displayed with other artist items at the cancer center where I was receiving treatments.  You will see that plate in my photos.

One day I was changing out some light bulbs and was looking at the used bulbs thinking there must be a way to use them and not throw them away, where they would end up in some kind of landfill.  As I was holding the bulb I started envisioning a beautiful ornament and behold an idea was born.

For many years the only ones who ever saw or enjoyed the items I created were family and friends who received them as gifts.  Many of them kept telling me that I needed to make them and sell them.  It wasn't until the end of 2011 that  I started posting pictures to family and friends of the ornaments, tea light holders and other items I was making and sharing the idea of selling them.  I was so blessed by the response and support I was getting that I started looking at ways to start marketing my "glass art".

I am so thankful for the opportunity to be able to share my love for painting on glass with others.

The ornaments I make are an excellent gift for anyone that is looking for something that is eco-friendly.  Ever ornament is carefully transformed from an everyday ordinary light bulb into a work of art and everyone is unique. From beginning to end the process takes about 10 days for them to be ready to go into my shop.

It was my brother who came up with the slogan, "saving the world, one light bulb at a time" and I want to say thank you, bro.

I would also like to say thank you to God, my wonderful husband, family and the many friends who have encourage me to take this step.  Without each of you "Beauty 4 Ashes Glass Art" would still be just an idea and not a reality.

THANK YOU!!!
