Welcome!

In May of 2015 I got to retire at the young age of 54. That summer was amazing playing in the water, fishing fishing and more fishing and playing in the dirt – creating these beautiful gardens all around our home. Every Thursday and Friday in spring and early summer, we would go thrifting… … I was on the hunt for an old chair that I could paint to add some color to my garden.  I just couldn't find that perfect chair.

In the spring of this year, I was on the hunt for some old doors or barn board for an art project and then started to stumble on old chairs everywhere I went.  People started texting me and emailing me they had chairs and so it all began.  I can now work a mean skill saw and drill and frankly I don't know how I found breathe before I had my mouse sander.    And paint! Friends say I have never seen you without your nails done. They are always painted now (with craft paints of some kind not nail polish) and there is almost always a little dirt under my nails that I missed from playing with the flowers. Most of the pots I create to go with each chair. I LOVE IT! They have become works of art for gardens, decks, patios and door steps all over Wisconsin and now a few have found their way to Minnesota.

The chairs have mostly sold by word of mouth and most recently art/craft shows. The have really taken off and hence “Bloomin Seats” was born.

90% of my Bloomin Seats are custom ordered and handpainted for a specific person.  Some of those include: "Welcome", "Teri's Garden", "Granny's", "Where Blessings Bloom", family names, a memorial chair, hosta chairs and even "Never Enough Thyme" an herb chair filled with fragrant Lemon Verbena, Rosemary, Verbena Flowers and of course Thyme.    I offer about a dozen colors, you provide the personalization and then I am off. Chairs come with flowers in the seat. They are so pretty!

So it would seem I have found a passion for painting (I paint anything I can get my hands on – drift wood, paneling, tin containers, milk cans, and even our lp tank.) The best part of creating the chairs are the smiles, reactions and sometimes tears of the recipients when they receive their chair. It makes every moment I spend creating that chair for them “priceless.”

Making my way through Wisconsin and into Minnesota art/craft fairs. Hope to see you sometime.

Thanks for checking out Bloomin Seats.

Have a blessed day!
