So how did this all start?
For many years we have enjoyed cooking BBQ at home just like many of you. Trying new things and always chasing that perfect cook. When all of the BBQ shows started showing up on television they were intriguing.
Don made the remark , "I know what this cooking is all about and it is a lot of work. I want to be the guy sitting up there eating it."
A few months later Sheila was reading the newspaper and said Oklahoma State University was having a school to certify judges. Without hesitation Don signed up, went to the school and became a certified judge. The following season, Sheila got certified as a judge and both of us started going to contests. We learned tips and tricks from the pros. We were always having someone asking us to cook something for them the next time we cooked. More contests, more cooking. More cooking, more contests. Of course it worked just like any hobby. Smoker upgrades, bigger grills, more gadgets. That only led to more people and more cooking. Now it has evolved into taking orders, a concession trailer, and yes...more cooking. BBQ sauce gets in your veins or genes or something and you can't get it out.
