Our business is family owned and I take great pride in our craftsmanship of Adirondack Furniture and other products. Our products are hand made by us and in the USA.
Craftsmanship and passion started almost 200 years ago with building of boats in the Hodgdon Boatyard of East Boothbay, Maine and and then years later at the Herreshoff Boatyard in Bristol, RI. by my ancestors. My great-grandfather Fred Hodgdon was the Foreman of the Herrreshoff Boatyard which crafted many boats including America's Cup Defender boats from 1893-1920. My grandfather William "Bill" Liscomb was also a craftsman of America's Cup Defenders and countless other other boats during his more than 30 years career with the Herreshoff's. Both men were superior craftsman.
Today, the Hodgdon Boatyard, now called "Hodgon Yachts" continues to provide superior crafted vessels in East Boothbay, Maine with the Hodgdon Family leading the way. The Herreshoff Boatyard is now a museum and is the home of these magnificently crafted boats.
I learnt what true craftsmanship meant by working side by side with grandfather in his wood shop as a young man in Bristol, RI. I created and named this company in recognition of my family's skill trade which spans 199 years of historic craftsmanship throughout New England.
The same passion and desire for superior craftsmanship is put into each product that we build. The tradition will continue and their presence is felt with every cut of wood, with every sand stroke and with each board being assembled to create a master piece.
So sit back and enjoy our outdoor products that are handcrafted with attention to detail and remember that the craftsman who crafted these products learnt from the best and continues to pass on to you 199 years of family tradition.
