Bud's Collective is a new, cutting edge group of super pickers based out of Wardensville WV. While their music reflects roots firmly planted in bluegrass tradition, these guys and gal do not hesitate to add to it in ways all their own. Fronted by lead singer and songwriter, dynamite flatpicker and born entertainer Buddy Dunlap, they perform a tasteful mix of Buddy's originial material, standard bluegrass tunes, and popular crowd pleasers. They have been known to turn heads when they cut loose on their own renditions of covers - from Stevie Wonder to The Proclaimers, Blues Travelor to Alabama, and all points in between.
While only recently established as a formal group, Buddy has been "collecting" the members of his band for the past ten years while picking in informal settings. Consisting of Cody Brown on Bass, Gina Clowes on Banjo, Jack Dunlap on Mandolin, and Gaven Largent on Dobro, Bud's Collective has developed a sound together that speaks loud and clear of the years they have spent picking together.
In their first few months together as a band, they became the 2013 DC Bluegrass Union Band of the Year. A year later, in February 2014, they placed 2nd in the prestigious SPBGMA International Band Championship.
