CKO recovers leftover food(leftovers from events, products affected by labeling regulations or manufacturing glitches, expired coupons or code dates, test-market products, and food drive collections) and converts it into as many meals as possible. CKO also recycles products from major food service corporations on daily basis.California Kitchen Operation uses food as a tool to establish trust and build relationships with homeless and low- income individuals.
