Canal Fest is a non-profit organization that runs for 8 days from 7/19-7/26/2009. The non-profit organizations in the area are the main food vendors. There are rides, golf tournament, parade, boat parade, car show, motorcycle show, races, & all kinds of music & entertainment. Loads of activities for children. Huge craft show the last two days, 7/25-26. 300-360 booths. Prizes awarded in 8 categories for art & crafts. Attendance of 200,000-300,000 buyers. The fest is on the banks of the Erie Canal & spans 2 cities. Many boaters dock for the week of events. Closing fireworks display. Scholarships awarded to local students.
