I learned a long time ago that hard work pays off. Unfortunately, that's just what I did -worked hard- at everything I did. Now I am medically disabled and can no longer "work." So with much time on my hands, and I can't sit idly by, I decided that I would work for myself. I make the most beautiful ooak chenille stuffed animals. Using vintage chenille bedspreads I have purchased for repurposing, I refashion them into these adorable critters. Since no two bedspreads are alike (it trully is hard to find a "pair" of spreads) neither are my animals. These bedspreads have been loved by others and many have seen better days. I carefully inspect, clean and sanitize them before I begin the placing of pattern pieces. Then I sew them up, stuff with new poly-fil, attach button eyes, embroider whiskers on and- VOILA. A new super soft best friend has been created for your little ones to enjoy. They clean up easily too. Just pop them in a front loading machine, add softner, then dry. Yes you can put them in the dryer. I do not recommend a top loading machine due to the twisting effect. If you do not see something that appeals to you, contact me. I have several (currently about 35 as of 1/2/2012) spreads that I have not yet used.
