I'm Nelson "Chip' Snawder. Creator of Chip's Pop Eye Art. I live in New Orleans where art, music & character abounds. I have had the greatest experience growing up in New orleans and also coming from a family of creative artists. My art started in masonry where I designed my jobs, before building. I am a 3rd generation mason. After 15 years in business I taught myself guitar and shortly after started writing creative poetry. which turned to songs, As I loved chasing my dream of being on stage, playing and singing my songs. My brother jeff, was the only artist of the family, so I thought. after losing my dear brother to kidney failure in May of 2013. I mourned his passing, i didn't do any of my passions no writing, no music, after 5 months I started drawing with pen and markers for my therapy. Come to find out, this is my greatest joy, I can spend hours and hours drawing and at peace. Within 3 months I was receiving rave reviews of my work, I was excitedly shocked but, happy. I began making prints selling door to door, sales we're coming fast. The 5th month in, I applied at the New Orleans French Market and was excepted by committee to sell my prints and originals. Color!! madd color is my secret, sharp lines, Fleur de lis, jazz scenes with instruments, and balancing colors, i draw from my mind.
