Chunnenuggee Fair Arts & Crafts Festival, Union Springs, AL
Bullock County Historical Society's Chunnenuggee Fair , a revival of 1850's fair, is in its 31st year and continues to provide a showcase for Fine artists and Crafts people as well as giving families a wonderful way to spend a Saturday. This year's Fair will be held on Sat., April 24, 2010, from 9am-3pm, in downtown Union Springs, in front of the historic 2nd Empire courthouse on North Prairie Street. 2010 aslo marks the Year of Small Towns and Downtowns in Alabama. We are enveloping the Chunnenuggee Fair within our Homecoming USA weekend celebration. Homecoming weekend will kick off with a parade down North Prairie Street on April 23, 2010, beginning at 4pm. Following the parade will be a barbecue cookoff benefiting Patnership in Education. The Tourism Council will also offer a Walking Tour, Quilt Show, Dinner and a Play from 5pm- 9:30 pm, Friday 23-25, 2010.
The 31st annual Chunnenuggee Fair will take place on North Prairie Street, Saturday, April 24, 2010, from 9am-3pm, with an entertainment salute to Eddie Kendricks, Bullock County Native and late member of the Temptations. There will also be a juried Arts and Crafts Show, made from scratch Cake sale, Live entertainment, children's area, food cooked on the premises( hot dogs , hamburgers, barbecue, fried fish, funnel cakes, etc.). The Chunnenuggee Fair is sponsored by the Bullock County Historical Society and financed by local businesses and other organizations.
Homecoming USA will close with several churches hosting, after Sunday Services, Open House lunches in the fellowship halls and "picnics on the grounds" if weather permits.
