My goal is to create Fine Art Wave Photographs, images that are artistically inspired and technically excellent. The image captured in my camera is the beginning; the true creative aspect of photography begins in the digital darkroom where I can infuse the image with the emotions I felt in that moment, at that location, standing in that body of water. Photographing water is a challenge especially the unpredictability of light and composition. It’s the dynamics of water interplaying with light that will create an image that appears to be made of fine crystal, dancing diamonds, or moody-blues. I’ve created a variety of presentations of my images. The subtle painterly effects of giclée printing on watercolor paper makes an image look like a painting, on canvas the painterly effect remains but the shimmering light is revealed, and printing on pearl and front-mounting on acrylic brings luminance to the image. Each enhances the image I’ve created of that unique moment.
