Bringing the muscles in my right hand and arm back to close to normal after being diagnosed with a disability was difficult until a friend gave me a handmade shawl. I asked her how she made it, bought some yarn, knitted one myself, and was immediately hooked on knitting. I make accessories such as fuzzy purses, fuzzy half-gloves, brooches, shawls, scarves, hats, jabots, necklaces, shawl pins, and whatever else captures my fancy. Most of the time, I don't knit with just one yarn: I use up to four in the same piece. This gives the piece a depth of color and texture that doesn't exist with one yarn. I also have a "stash" that includes yarns that have been off the market for many years. Making items with these guarantee the buyers of my pieces won't see the same item unless I've made a duplicate, and I seldom do that. One of my three-yarn shawls was featured at the Wisconsin Craft Biennial Exhibition in April 2025 in Plymouth, WI.
